Keeping the Spiders OUT.
I wouldn’t say that I have a ‘life-threatening'fear of spiders, but I certainly don’t like having them around, especially in my own living space. It is for this reason that I decided to carry out a little online research… ‘Surely there is something to prevent the little blighters from getting inside in the first place'I thought. And that is how my cyber-fuelled quest began!
Conkers!
(No, I’m not hurling insults around)
Apparently these are supposed to be THE answer when it comes to ‘domestic spider control’! If you are intent on keeping unwanted, eight-legged visitors out of your home, then you simply have to leave a few conkers lying around on each of your windowsills. At least that is what I read on someone’s blog… But whether or not this really is effective still remains to be seen.
The only part of this that doesn’t quite equate is that spiders are rather cunning… I mean, they do not have any set rules where they will only come in through your windows, do they? In fact, they will get in through doors, air vents or even on your washing as you are carrying it indoors! Once spiders have gained access, they will whizz around on your carpets or wallpaper faster than any souped-up hybrid cars ! And that is where I have my doubts with the ‘conkers'idea.
Maybe I completely misunderstood the post I read. Could it be that you are meant to use the horse chestnuts as deadly ‘anti-arachnid projectiles’??? If so, then one thing’s for sure; you’d have to be a damn good shot!
