Causes and Care for an Oily Skin

Oily skin is caused by excessive production of sebum which is an oily secretion. People with active sebaceous glands are prone to have oily skin. One of the most common issues faced by oily skinned people are pimples. The oil on the skin makes it hard to prevent clogging of the pores resulting in accumulation of dead cells which makes acne or pimples. Acne is hated by all; it spoils the look of your beautiful face.

Therefore, it is essential to follow a skin care routine to have a flawless, smooth and beautiful skin. Much like manual handling courses you need to do hard work to care for your skin. The major factors that cause us to have an oily skin are hormonal changes, our food, cosmetics we use, pregnancy, birth control medicines, weather, or even it could be hereditary.

Caring for oily skin in a proper way can be tricky. There needs to be a balance between eliminating oil and eliminating too much oil which causes dry skin.

Here are a few suggestions on how to treat oily skin and restore your skin to fresh-faced, shiny, and clean condition:

1. Wash your skin with warm not hot water. You want to remove the oils off your skin but not all of them. If you use hot water you may remove too much and your skin will become dry and flaky.

2. Using mild soap is good enough to get rid of the excessive oil and keep the moisture in your skin. Do not use soaps that contain alcohol as they will strip away more oil than needed. If you use harsh soap, this could cause your glands to work harder to make up for lost oil and worsen your skins condition.

3. When picking your moisturizer and sunscreen, look for products that are less likely to block pores. Use oil-free sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or more.

5. Choose powder based makeup and facial products. These types of products are intended for use with oily skin. These work to remove oil and treat your pores at the same time. Also do not use a liquid base eye shadow, foundation, blush, or concealer.

6. Avoiding stress will greatly help your skin condition. Your body generates more oil when you are stressed or anxious.

7. There are natural remedies for oily skin as well. If you use cucumber juice and lime juice on your skin before taking a bath it will remedy your skin condition.

These ideas are meant to help you get rid of excessive oil on your skin. If you follow these steps you skin will be in excellent skin condition.
